Avian Arteries

At a time of ecological crisis Global Heating is technically more correct because we are talking about changes in the energy balance of the planet. We are already noticing huge differences in UK weather patterns, and this is making climate change something we are actually experiencing ourselves.

Avian Arteries was an installation in Brockwell Park, London. Over a few days, bird sculptures made of ice and beetroot melted under the suns heat, slowly disfiguring their shapes and staining the fallen wooden tree, and ultimately disappearing altogether and showing no signs of even being there in the first place.

My aim was to confront the viewer with consequences of environmental changes by disrupting the secure space of the park and contaminating its idealised view of nature.
